Representatives from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa School of Social Work will hold information sessions on Kaua‘i next week about its master’s in social work.
The program is available through distance education technology to Neighbor Island residents in their communities through interactive television, computer-based delivery and hybrid, or combination, approaches. Graduates will be awarded the master’s degree after completion of a three-year, part-time program of classes, including the field practicum. All students enrolled in this option participate in the Concentration on Children and Families.
The information sessions are scheduled for next Thursday, July 26, in two Lihu‘e locations:
• Noon to 1:30 p.m. at Queen Lili‘uokalani Children’s Center, 4530 Kali Road
• 5 p.m.to 6:30 p.m. at Kaua‘i Community College, 3-1901 Kaumuali‘i Highway in the Learning Resource Center 128.
Applications for admission are due by Oct. 1 to begin the degree program in late May 2008. After this year, the next opportunity to apply will be in 2009 for entry into this degree option in summer 2010. For more information, visit www.hawaii.edu/sswork/de.
