Why grow old with all the infirmities and fears of aging when you can choose to grow younger? This is the question at the heart of Ellen Wood’s workshop and new book “The Secret Method for Growing Younger n A Step-by-Step Guide Based on the Law of Attraction.”
On Saturday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wood will share the consciousness-based techniques she has used to grow younger at a free experiential workshop in Princeville.
“Since I began using this approach in 2004, I’ve gained a clearer, sharper mind and stronger body — as well as more vitality, stamina, flexibility, exuberance and energy than I had 30 years ago,” Wood says. “I am living proof that it is possible to reverse the changes we’ve been taught are inevitable with growing older.”
Wood studied mind-spirit training for decades and applied the dynamics she learned to many aspects of her life for years. It was after her mother wasted away with Alzheimer’s that she was troubled that the same would happen to her. These thoughts and fears caused her to wake up to the fact that she could change that image of her future by applying techniques she had used in other areas of her life. Soon a whole program evolved along with a passion to share the information. The result is her first book, “The Secret Method for Growing Younger n A Step-by-Step Guide Based on the Law of Attraction.”
Wood’s book has been endorsed by a number of notable physicians including Dr. David Simon, medical director of the Chopra Center for Wellbeing, and Dr. C. Norman Shealy, bestselling author of “Life Beyond 100.” Shealy, who wrote the foreword for Wood’s book, writes in a recent press release, “Ellen Wood has integrated this century of positive thinking and its effect upon health to the next level n its power not only to retard aging but to reverse it.”
In the “How To Grow Younger” workshop, Wood will take the group through step-by-step youthfulness instructions, guiding them in examining their perceptions about aging, short-circuiting negative programming as it arises, and deliberately reprogramming their expectations about who they want to be.
“I’m thrilled to be invited to offer a workshop here on Kaua‘i,” said Wood, “and I am really looking forward to meeting a lot of Kauaians while I’m here, and sharing what I’ve learned about growing younger. We’ll have fun.”
The July 21 workshop takes place at the new Princeville Community Center, opposite the library in the park at 5 p.m. Those interested in attending the workshop should call 346-2008 to get complete directions. The two-hour workshop is free and open to everyone.
