A man initially accused of first-degree terroristic threatening, third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug and third-degree possession of firearms pleaded guilty to lesser charges in Judge Randal Valenciano’s courtroom yesterday.
Micheal Wong Jr. admitted guilt to using an illegal place to keep a loaded firearm and second-degree reckless endangerment.
According to court documents, the charges stem from Wong’s possession of a shotgun in his truck, which was later recovered by police. After getting into an argument with his brother, he fired the shotgun into the air.
Facing up to five years and a $10,000 fine for the felony firearm charge and one year jail time and a $2,000 fine for reckless endangerment, the prosecution recommended probation with conditions.
Wong will be sentenced at 8 a.m. Sept. 27.
