Hats off to Billy Gibson and Martina Hilldorfer on another great Chili Cookoff! But, beyond that, congratulations to Dennis Wasano for winning another event! Ron Wiley (he didn’t have his bottle of Tums this year) is wondering how Dennis is able to come up with winning chili year after year. Jonell Kaohelaulii was roaming the mall with the chili people, but there wasn’t enough time to find out what her fav was … TGI Biz writer Blake Jones liked the Marriott’s serving with the dumplings-on-a-stick, and there were a couple of brave souls who tried venison in chili.
After a full weekend of sports, people are still talking about the blackout … Cheryl Grady was just leaving the law enforcement conference when the lights went out … she and her family were at the KSA Seven-a-Side games, Sunday, as was coach Michael Tresler, councilwoman Shaylene Iseri-Carvalho and former councilwoman Maxine Correa who was there to cheer on the High Maintenance greenshirts.
Coach Bobbie Rapozo was able to give attention to the other Ha‘aheo teams since the Kaua‘i Ha‘aheo had the bye, but where was Kenny? This week is the big KIF air rifle match at Kaua‘i, and Bobbie said he’ll probably be there since it’s at Kaua‘i High School, tomorrow afternoon.
Meanwhile, mahalo to Mary Thronas for the nice package and card … the shirt is dress code, and those bottled snacks come in handy while in traffic.
