Hats off to Ralph Suniga and his Kaua‘i High School football boosters on a great banquet, Sunday!
Vernon Yoshida was one of those hard-working volunteers, and his wife Laurie and daughter Britney were also working hard at Kapu Alquiza-Kinimaka’s Holiday Hula event.
Lori Koga was also working hard at the football banquet and still made it down to the Kaua‘i Marriott in time.
Pete Alquiza was a good second for Raymond Duarte since he knew how to get the stage lights on while Raymond was prepping for the event, and it was nice to run into Moana Taa who had to get pix of her daughter.
Ross Shimabukuro barely had time to eat since he had to run off and check on the basketball boys who were painting the Raiderdome.
Gary Maguire said the Kapa‘a basketball boys spent their Thanksgiving weekend re-doing the floor of the Bernice Hundley gym just in time for the game against Kapolei. Phil Baclayon said there’s more basketball on tap when Kapa‘a hosts a pre-season tournament starting tomorrow.
Calvin Paleka was having one of those days when he had to close up the soccer games and get up to the Bernice Hundley for the basketball game up there. Sam Henriques (she said everything was falling asleep) was luckier — she had Keith Burgess to finish off the soccer games before running up to tape players before their game.
OK, so now that we’re approaching Christmas, time to think about visiting Chris Fayé, fire chief Robert Westerman and all those Waimea people for the Saturday night parade. Go early!
