The Kaua‘i Humane Society hosted its first Critter Camp Days during the winter break. While the camp was originally scheduled for two days, due to its popularity, it was extended by another day. There was one day for elementary school kids, and one day for middle school kids then a third day of elementary camp.
A total of 55 students were able to spend a day of interactive activities at the shelter.
Special thanks go out to junior volunteers Wailana Gandeza, Kylee Iseri, Katie Leota, Kalei Lizama and Hayley Walcher for their hard work in making the camp successful. Their enthusiasm and dedicated hard work helped produce a day for all to remember.
Other critter camps offered by the humane society are week long summer camps June 9 through June 13 or June 23 through June 27 for third to fifth-graders. Deadline for registration is May 19. The camps are sure to fill up early so call 632-0610 x103 to request your registration brochure soon.
