Jean Young, extension educator, installed the officers for 2008. They are Gladys Fujiuchi, president; Suzie Yokoyama, vice president; Margaret Hashimoto, secretary; Arlecia Booth, treasurer; and Gladys Horner, historian. Guest speaker was Catherine Stovall, the community response specialist of the Community Emergency Response Team. Also present were Roy Yamakawa, interim Kaua‘i county administrator and state FCE president Katsuko Enoki.
After a delicious luncheon prepared by the Hilton culinary department, the members were entertained by members who did a skit titled “It’s Arthritis” to the tune of “Stormy Weather” which was written by Millie Wellington. The drawing of Chinese auction prizes and Alice P. Trimble prizes concluded the day’s events.
Chairing the event were Hui Anuenue FCE and Kalaheo FCE. Anyone who is interested in the FCE and its purposes can call Gladys Fujiuchi at 245-2532 for more information. The KAFCE will be hosting the next state convention in October.
