Nancy Malia Piilani
Nancy Malia Piilani of Honolulu, formerly of Kaua‘i, died on March 8, 2008, at her residence, at the age of 88. She was born on December 15, 1919, in Ha‘ena.
She is survived by sons Henry Puulei, Peter, Ruben, Kaiser Piilani, Michael Gooman and Kaipo Piilani; daughters Sarah “Ulu” and Charlotte “Honey Girl” Hoomanawainui, Jane Kinze, Bobbin Poaha and Emerald Kawelo; 73 grandchildren; 107 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and sister Winona Watanabe.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, at Borthwick Mortuary with service starting at 11:30 a.m. Burial to follow at 3 p.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery. Aloha attire is suggested.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
Yoshie Kabazawa
Yoshie Kabazawa of Waipahu, formerly of Kaua‘i, died on March 12, 2008, at her residence, at the age of 83. She was born on March 31, 1924, in Waimea.
She is survived by her son Jerry (Lynn Kuboyama) Kabazawa of Lihu‘e; daughters Verna K. (Harold) Mikaru of Waipahu and Iris T. (Roy Yamashita) Kabazawa of Kaneohe; brothers Ralph T. (Hideko) Fujita of Honolulu and Susumu (Emi) Fujita of Honolulu; sister Kiyomi Wakabayashi of Honolulu; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private services were held.
Mary Ann K. Lindsey
Mary Ann K. Lindsey of Kapa‘a passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008, at her home with her loving family by her side, at the age of 81. Born on Sept. 30, 1926, in Captain Cook, she was employed by Hawaiian Bitumuls and Niu Construction as a dispatcher/weighmaster. Her love was doing scenic oil paintings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Lindsey.
She is survived by her son William “Boogie” (Lovey) Lindsey of Waimea; daughters Vivian K. Lindsey of Kihei and Linda Ann L. (Samuel) Wong of Kapa‘a; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, at Kapaa First Hawaiian Church. Casual attire is suggested.
