Students and parents can get a “Taste of College” on Apr. 29 when Kaua‘i Community College opens its doors to its college preview program.
The program opens with tours of the campus starting at 4:30 p.m. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., college representatives, counselors and instructors will be on hand at the KCC cafeteria and Fine Dining rooms to learn more about getting an early start on students’ post-high school education.
Rhonda Liu, the KCC Outreach Counselor, said studies rank parents as the main drivers of children who decide to go to college.
Co-sponsored by Gear Up Hawai‘i, this free event will provide an opportunity for both students and parents to learn more about getting a head start on college, meet KCC instructors and counselors, learn about college costs and financial aid, and get help applying to college.
Liu said space for this free event is limited and people should register by calling her at 245-8261, or 245-8212. People can also register by e-mailing her at rhonda@hawaii.edu.
KCC offers business education, trade technology, health services, early childhood education and liberal arts courses and administers the University of Hawai‘i Center on Kaua‘i which offers four-year and graduate degrees.
