Waimea Plantation Cottages begins its “Hawaiianess” program with concerts for customers and the community this weekend.
Tomorrow’s concert begins at 5:30 p.m. and will feature Cyril Pahinui, a Grammy Award-winning recording artist and slack key guitar master. The event will benefit keiki rodeo champions’ trip to the state and national finals competition.
On Monday, Pahinui will present a two-hour workshop at the Cottages. The cost is $50; call 338-1625 for reservations.
Later this summer, the cottages will offer hula classes to students and guests, as well as two more concerts prior to year-end.
“By formulating this ‘Hawaiianess philosophy,’ we are working hard to keep our visitors satisfied with their experience on Kaua‘i and, of course, hoping they will return time and time again to our beautiful Garden Isle,” states a press release.
