Was nice to see other baseball greats like coach Destry Carvalho and Gordan Muramaru come out to support the aspiring baseball players. Coach Gordan is well connected and through him, got to meet the parents of some players like Glenn Tokunaga, Tanner’s dad and the AD at Waianae High School. Clay Arinaga said he was going to try and make some games, but was unsuccessful.
On the final day of play, Glenn was talking with Gordan and Gary Look, father of Max Look from Kaimuki. That kind of camaraderie is what makes these tournaments so good.
Unfortunately, Fig Mitchell has to worry about school opening next week so could only emcee one of the games, but coach Bryan did a great game and Peter Soares and his grounds crew kept everything immaculate.
Mahalo to Lisa Iida for keeping the scores coming during the resumption of the 3 G’s basketball league. Cecil Gee is breathing a sigh of relief since the league has just two more outings before the season ends.
OK, ‘nuff with the sports … time to go check out the Koloa Plantation Days and rodeo (Raquel Kaui said her sister Rhonda is going to be in the Grand Entry).
