A renewable energy conference will be held Sept. 8 and 9 at the Kaua‘i Marriott in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, county Office of Economic Development, and Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative.
The conference will focus on the latest projects, challenges, tools and solutions to develop a sustainable energy future for Kaua‘i, with keynote speakers Maurice Kaya, formerly of the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism; Sen. Daniel K. Inouye; and state Sen. Gary Hooser. Other speakers include Bill Parks Jr., deputy assistant secretary with the U.S. Department of Energy, and state Rep. Mina Morita.
The registration fee is $75 per person, including breakfast and lunch both days, or $350 for a group of five. Limited scholarships are available.
