The Mokihana Club will hold its regular monthly meeting at 10 a.m., Wednesday, at the Lihu‘e United Church Parish Hall, 4340 Old Nawiliwili Road. A cultural and community-service women’s organization since 1905, the Mokihana Club has pushed for a public library, worked on island beautification and health issues, assisted the YWCA Women’s Shelter, awarded music scholarships for high-school students, and provided nursing scholarships for students at Kaua‘i Community College.
This month’s presenter, Pastor Lance Kerwin, will share his journey from child star to addiction counselor.
Club events for 2008-09 include a Christmas luncheon on Dec. 6 at the Hilton, a winter concert featuring singer Mary Rauh on Jan. 4 and Jan. 7, and the annual charity Golf Scramble on April 4. For more information call 822-5425.
