Teresa Thompson
Teresa Michelle Dawson Thompson of Kalaheo died Jan. 11, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 42. She was born Oct. 9, 1966, in Kailua, Hawai‘i.
She is survived by daughters Danika Jae‘lene Thompson and Kierra Raiko Thompson, both of Kalaheo; parents Jim and Verlene Dawson of Kalaheo; brother Randall S. Dawson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandmother Ruby Caldwell of Sacramento, Calif.; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, at Kalaheo Missionary Church; service begins at 3 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers should be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Agnes Harp
Agnes Sue Puakalehua (Nihi) Harp died Jan. 6, 2009, at Castle Hospital on O‘ahu. She was a retired elderly care provider and nutritionist.
She is survived by children Ben Nihi, Wanda Chapman, Arnold Arlantico, Sheila Hibbs, Carolyn Harp, Isaac Harp, John Harp and Donald Harp; sister Sheila Helen (Hacoba) Cavaco; brothers Theodore Hacoba, Jr. and Allen Nihi; sisters-in-law Patricia Nihi and Gina Nihi; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the First Assembly of God Windward, Ahuimanu Road, Kahalu‘u, O‘ahu.
Aloha attire requested. A paina to celebrate Puakalehua’s life will follow the services. Interment will be by private ‘ohana ceremony at a later date.

Joan Baker
Joan Baker of Cleveland, Ohio, died Jan. 7, 2009, in Princeville at age 68. Born Sept. 21, 1940, in Sanyea, N.Y., she was a retired professor and counselor at Cuyahoga Community College.
She is survived by husband Ronald Kohn, stepchildren Adam Kohn and Lori Bulkoski, five grandchildren and brother Robert (Pat) Baker.
A celebration of her life will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, at ‘Anini Beach at the ramp pavilion.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Baker family with arrangements.
Shigen Oshiro
Shigeo Oshiro of Kalaheo died Jan. 14, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 86. Born April 7, 1922, in Mana, he was a retired surveyor with Kekaha Sugar Company.
He was preceded in death by brother Takeshi Oshiro.
He is survived by wife Katsuko Oshiro; sons Sanford Oshiro of ‘Ele‘ele and Mason (Jean) Oshiro of Honolulu; daughters Trish (Stanwood) Kanna of Kalaheo and Terri (Randy) Matsuoka of Lawa‘i; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother Yoshio (Norma) Oshiro of Kaneohe; sisters Pat (Henry) Moreth of Illinois and Hisako (Kuniyoshi) Arakaki of Naalehu; sister-in-law Gladys Oshiro of Honolulu.
Private services will be held at a later date. The family requests no koden.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.
Kimberly and Colin Rapozo
Kimberly Ann Rapozo, 33, along with infant son Colin James Rapozo died Dec. 27, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nev. Kimberly was a forensic lab manager for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
They are survived by husband and father Jason Rapozo; parents and grandparents Wayne and Stephanie Rapozo; family members Anthony and Lucas Rapozo; great-grandparents Lucas and Daisy Rapozo; and numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
A funeral Mass was held Jan. 6, at St. Liborius Catholic Church.
Elizabeth Kamala
Elizabeth “Cubby” Jane Kamala of Kapa‘a died Dec. 20, 2008, at her residence in Kapa‘a at the age of 55. Born in California, she was a retired nurse at Wilcox Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by sister Beverly Simpson and brother William Hobart Simpson Jr.
She is survived by parents William Hobart and Billie Jeanne Simpson, daughter Ursula (David) Torres, son James Langtad and sister Bonnie (Will) Berndt; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and hanai family.
A celebration of life will be held at noon on Sunday, Jan. 18, at ‘Anini Beach.
