Lihu‘e Baseball League holding registration
The Lihu‘e Baseball League is accepting registration forms for its 2009 Mustang, Bronco and Pony season.
Volunteers will be on-hand to accept registration from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 18 and Thursday, Feb. 19. The tryout and draft is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 21. Players must submit a completed application, a copy of Birth Certificate, copy of health insurance and pay a registration fee.
The Mustang players must have been born between May 1998 and April 200 ($150), Bronco between May 1996 and April 1998 ($170) and Pony May 1994 and April 1996 ($100).

Kiahuna sees 2 aces
Sandy Peifer of Springfield, Ohio carded a hole-in-one at the Kiahuna No. 3 on Feb. 2.
Peifer, 62, used a Taylormade 8 Iron to ace the 100-yard hole. The feat was witnessed by Jim Peifer.
Tish Hunt of Koloa carded a hole-in-one at the Kiahuna No. 7 on Jan. 28.
The 67-year-old resident used a Precept 7 Wood to ace the 143-yard hole.
Bob and Emily McCoug and Judy Mince witnessed the feat.
Tryouts for travel team; fee waived for Kaua‘i
Talented Kaua‘i baseball players are invited to try out to make the roster of C&H Baseball’s elite U18 travel team scheduled to compete in two major tournaments in the Pacific Northwest in early July. Both tournaments are expected to be heavily attended by college coaches and pro scouts. Half of the C&H Baseball roster is planned to be players from the Hawaiian islands and the remaining players from California.
The two-day tryouts will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Sunday, Feb. 15 and from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, at the Kailua District Park.
The regular $30 advance registration fee for Kaua‘i players has been waived. Kaua‘i players requiring airport pick-ups and drop-offs may have a parent or guardian request free ground transportation, along with overnight housing for Sunday.
