Kaua‘i Youth Network Summit
This weekend
YWCA Camp Sloggett
Kaua‘i’s Boys and Girls Club and YWCA joined forces to initiate a new leadership program for young people. The Kaua‘i Youth Network (KYN) will be a new youth organization that seeks to expand opportunities for young people to engage, partner and lead the changes they want to see on their rural island. KYN will be planned, directed and owned by the youth participants themselves. Young people ages 14- to 21- years old are invited to come together in solidarity and serve their peers as a unified voice seeking change for Kaua‘i’s youth. The KYN will kick off with a “Youth Activist Summit,” at the YWCA Camp Sloggett today.
The Summit will provide a setting and project foundation where KYN participants can meet, bond and strategize in a fun, intellectually stimulating and challenging environment. For more information call the program’s coordinator Leanne Baumungat, 245-9552.
