Three football games will be on tap between two nights this weekend as the three public high schools wrap up their respective Spring football training.
Two games will take place Friday evening and the weekend wraps up with the third, Saturday evening.
Waimea High School, under the direction of new football head coach Keli‘i Aguiar, will open up the Hanapepe Stadium with its annual Blue-and-White game starting at 7 p.m., Friday.
Jon Kobayashi, athletic director for Waimea High School, said the public is invited to view the prospects for the 2009 season for a $10 admission fee that includes entry to the game as well as a kalua pork-and-cabbage dinner.
The Kapa‘a High School athletic department invites the public to its annual Green-and-White spring football contest, Friday starting at 7 p.m. at the New Kapa‘a Town Park.
Admission for the event is $10 and includes a chili-and-rice dinner with a soft drink.
There will also be a food booth and a shave ice trailer for those who want something other than the chili.
During halftime, the school’s faculty and staff will engage in a game of flag football.
Keli‘i Morgado is the head football coach at Kapa‘a High School.

Kaua‘i High School, the reigning Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation champions under head coach Derek Borrero, will wrap up the weekend with its annual Red-and-White games, Saturday evening at Vidinha Stadium.
The JV game is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. with the varsity matchup to follow, said Ron Victorino in a release from the Kaua‘i High School football boosters.
Admission is $7 and includes a chili-and-rice dinner.
A food booth offering other food and drink options will also be available.
The Red Raider football players will be conducting a food drive in conjunction with this game and ask the public to bring along a donation of food that will be turned over to the Kaua‘i Food Bank.
Collection sites will be available at the front gate.
