The Kapa‘a Warriors will open up the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation slate of preseason football games with a home matchup against Kalani High School at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Kapa‘a Stadium.
Kawaihau Little League seeking Board members
The Kawaihau Community Little League is seeking individuals willing to serve on its Board of Directors.
Applications for the KCLL 2009-2010 Board of Directors are available now. The deadline to turn in completed application forms is Aug. 20 by 4 p.m.
Election for the Board of Directors will take place Aug. 26 at the New Kapa‘a Town Park pavilion from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Kaua‘i Ocean Recreation
Kurt Leong, Kaua‘i County firefighter, is spearheading his own version of Access Surf Hawai‘i. Kaua‘i Ocean Recreation is specifically designed to get the physically challenged, or special needs children and adults into the ocean. The program is set up to give them the assistance of trained professionals.
Whether it be surfing or just relaxing in the ocean, the intent is to get these special residents and their families to enjoy a day at the beach.
Come experience the fun and freedom of learning how to surf in a safe environment.
The first day will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 15 at Hanalei Black Pot beach.
