Junior golfers around the state are beneficiaries of a $5,000 grant from the Bank of Hawai‘i Charitable Foundation, states a release from the Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association.
The grant is in support of the HSJGA youth golf programs.
“Bank of Hawai‘i has been at our side as a partner every step of the way since we started the HSJGA 11 years ago,” said Mary Bea Porter-King, president of the HSJGA, in the release. “The support from their foundation has been key to our survival and growth; they share and believe in our vision to develop not only future golfers but future leaders through the game of golf.”
King said support from organizations like the Bank of Hawai‘i Charitable Foundation allow the HSJGA to achieve its mission of promoting the game of golf for juniors of all ages and skill levels, including racial and ethnic minorities, and those who are financially disadvantaged.
This is done by providing golf opportunities including introductory, educational, rules, etiquette and competitive programs.
