Island School romps over Waimea

Island’s Alicia Becerra goes for the hoop under pressure from Waimea’s Kaylyn Furumoto in the first quarter, Friday as Joy and Lauren Claypoole back the play action at the Island School Wilcox Gym. Island improved its season record to 8-1 with a 45-7 win over Waimea with Autumn Warnok and Lauren Claypoole scoring 19 and 18 points, respectively. Marissa Hesapene (22) topped the Waimea scoring with three points. Becerra finished with two points and Joy Claypoole ended with six points. Island travels to Kapa‘a for a single game today, starting at 5:30 p.m.
