Kaua‘i boxer Latisha Alo will be the lone female combatant when the doors to the first annual Ken Oki Memorial Boxing event opens at 5 p.m., Saturday at the Kapa‘a High School gym.
Mark Ozaki, the Kaua‘i Police Activities League coordinator, said there will be about 22 matches scheduled for the bout honoring longtime Kaua‘i boxing enthusiast Ken Oki.
The event, which starts at 6 p.m., is the first-ever for K-PAL and will feature Kaua‘i boxers, many of whom have done well in off-island tournaments, against their counterparts from O‘ahu, Maui and the Big Island.
Tickets are $10 pre-sale at locations around the island and $12 at the door. Ringside seats are $20.
Ticket locations include Oki Diner, the K-PAL boxing gym in Lihu‘e and in Hanapepe, Dynamic Tinting in Puhi, Sweet & Sassy in ‘Ele‘ele, Kujo’s in Kalaheo, and Wong’s Restaurant in Hanapepe.
Ozaki released the names of Kaua‘i boxers who are scheduled to be on the fight card.
These include Alo, the lone female, Kelii Alcos, Kristopher Alcos, Micah Lovell-Gonsalves, Jesse Ramoar, Melvin Alcantara, Kainoa Simao, C.J. Tapaoan, Kyle DeLima, Dominick Ansagay, Kevin Yago-Bernado, Kaipo Contrades, Micah Fernandez, Keith Saniatan, Anson Agrade, Chucky Rapozo, Kai Boy Reyes, Dustin Barca, Bendon Gacayan, Jurell Bautista, Scot Sasan, Hinano Jaramillo, Lawaia Naihe and Mahiahe Naihe.
