LIHU‘E — This weekend, Hanalei Bay will host the 31st Annual Pine Trees Longboard Surfing Classic, with competition taking place both Saturday and Sunday.
The popular contest, which has drawn over 150 participants in the past, is the longest running surf event on Kaua‘i.
Age divisions range from 12 and under boys and girls to 50 and over men and women.
Events will begin at 8 a.m. each morning. Registration will be available on the beach for a $25 fee, which includes an event t-shirt.
Trophies will be awarded for all those finishing in the top six of their respective divisions, while other prizes will be given out to make the day enjoyable for all involved.
