A week before Christmas and all through the town trees were sold out and none could be found — except at Kmart. How many trees does Kmart have left? Associates said more than a few remain in the two shipping containers in the store’s parking lot; however, they are out of noble firs. Big Save no longer has trees at their Lihu‘e locale, Walmart has sold out their two containers full, and last week, Home Depot sold out their three containers full of firs, an estimated 3,000 trees. Some island nurseries are rumored to still have a few.
