Betty Tomoye Nakamoto of Hanama‘ulu died at home on March 2, 2011, at age 78. Born in Honolulu on Sept. 19, 1932, she retired with the State of Hawai‘i Department of Education as a cook at Wilcox Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Nakamoto.
She is survived by her husband, Wallace Nakamoto of Hanama‘ulu; four children, Lyle (Jean) Nakamoto of Kapaa, Noel Nakamoto of Hanama‘ulu, Dan (Teri) Nakamoto of Wailua, Kathy (Glenn) Miyashiro of Aiea; brother, George (Leo) Fujimura of Kekaha; sisters, Hisako Conners of Kahuku, Marilyn (Dan) Obryant of Minnesota; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held. Family requests no Koden.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Nakamoto family with arrangements.
