LIHU‘E — The aroma of chicken hekka said it all Friday as P.J. Ferrara and Fran Basuel, the new owners of Pacific Tile Creative Tile and Stone, welcomed guests and friends to the familiar shop in the Lihu‘e Industrial Park, Phase II.
The brother-sister team takes over from former owner Margaret Sheen and adds to the offerings of stone and tile during the grand re-opening and blessing.
“This is very opportune for P.J. and Fran,” said Tim Mira, a longtime family friend. “They were at one time looking to buy a place from Margaret, but at that time, things weren’t right. Now, everything fell into place.”
Ferrara used to work for Margaret, Mira said. She started at the bottom and worked his way up to a good position.
Basuel was in hotel administration for many years and brings that solid background into the team.
The showroom is at 2995 Aukele St. in Lihu‘e and is liberally stocked with samples and products, utilizing all the different nooks and crannies of the office/showroom.
Another room is devoted to rugs and carpeting.
Customers are invited to drop in and see the new lines and displays added to the Pacific Tile Creative Tile and Stone showrooms.
