LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Fire Department will participate next week in a two-day search-and-rescue training in Lihu‘e coordinated by the U.S. Coast Guard, according to a county press release.
Training operations will be held between noon and 3 p.m. on Tuesday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Tuesday’s training will take place at Vidinha Stadium and the adjacent soccer field. During training, a Coast Guard helicopter will land at the soccer field.
Thursday’s training will take place at Nawiliwili jetty. During training, the utility access road to the jetty will be closed to the public. Access to Nawiliwili Park will remain open.
Kaua‘i Police Department and the state Department of Land and Natural Resources will also participate.
