Noboru Muraoka
Noboru Muraoka of Kalaheo died Dec. 17, 2011, at the age of 91. Born on Aug. 17, 1920, in Hanapepe, Kaua‘i, he was a general contractor with Noboru Muraoka Contracting.
He is survived by his wife, Mikiko Muraoka of Kalaheo; two sons, Calvin (Jane) Muraoka of Hanapepe and Leighton (Lisa) Muraoka of ‘Ele‘ele; four daughters, Lucile (Edwin) Horita of Lawa‘i, Brenda Honda of Kalaheo, Priscilla (Norman) Nitta of Kalaheo and Sheila (Gerry) Tamura of Hilo; one sister, Kasumi Oyama of Maui; one sister-in-law, Janet Yukie Muraoka of Hanapepe; plus 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held Dec. 28 at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Visitation is from 10 to 11a.m. Services begin at 11 a.m. The family suggests casual attire.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Luciano Daligcon
Luciano Lorenzo Daligcon of ‘Ele‘ele, Kaua‘i, died Dec. 4, 2011, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 74. He was born Jan. 5, 1937, in the Philippines. He was a retired laborer.
He is survived by his wife Norna Daligcon; two daughters, Normaliza Daligcon and Nancy (Victor) Daligcon; two sons, Lyndon Daligcon and Kevin Daligcon; brother, Gregorio (Victoria) Daligcon; two sisters, Saturnina Andres and Rosita Yadao; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
Arrangements are handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Clarita Cacal
Clarita Capulong Cacal of Hanapepe died peacefully at home on Dec. 14, 2011, at the age of 70. Born on Feb. 3, 1941, in Tondo, Manila, Philippines, she was a retired heavy equipment operator with Kekaha Sugar Plantation.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Capulong and Consalacion Serrano, and her brother, Adriano Capulong.
She is survived by her sons, Roland (Elisa) Cacal of Hanapepe, Isidro “Sonny” (Tammy Lynn) Cacal of Lihu‘e, Robert (Charlene) Cacal of Hanapepe and Richard Cacal (Chuck Danilowski) of Kona; her daughters, Vivian Cacal Perry of Hanapepe, Joann (Wesley) Ikeda of Po‘ipu and Glorayin “Glory” (Duane) Cacal Carveiro of Kalaheo; daughter-in-law, Michele Cacal of Hanama‘ulu; granddaughters/caregivers, Gezmynn (Levi) Viquelia of Hanapepe and Genesse Cacal Ignacio of Kalaheo; brothers, Manuel Capulong, Jr. and Carlito Galpo; sisters, Juanita Galpo and Reana Galpo all of the Philippines; 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Dec. 23, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested. Flowers welcome.
Myrtle Hine
Myrtle N.N. Cup Choy Hine died peacefully on Dec. 6, 2011, at her home in Wenatchee, Wash., at the age of 78. She was born on Feb. 8, 1933, in Makawao, Maui.
She is survived by her husband, Donald A. Hine of Washington; son, Brian (Linh) Lee of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Cheryl (Lee) Kenneth Kubota of Kapa‘a and Lenore “Lia” (Curtis) Lau of Kaneohe; step-daughter, Pamela (Lenny) Lamb; step-sons, Greg (Mary) Hine and Ronald (Bea) Hine, both of Washington State; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Cup Choy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, at Kailua Christian Church, 317 Manono St., Kailua, O‘ahu; with visitation from 9:30 a.m. and service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Scattering of her ashes will take place at Anini Beach at a later date.
