Epic Hair Boutique supports Easter Seals

KAPA‘A — A foot soak and polish change rewarded Epic Hair Boutique customers who supported the Easter Seals Hawai‘i Early Intervention Program.

Saturday, boutique operator Darci Furtado and her employees at Epic Hair Boutique in Kapa‘a presented a check for $1,000 to Charlotte Mullins, the Easter Seals Early Intervention Program manager, and Ellen Ching, the Easter Seals Neighbor Islands development officer.

The contribution represents $500 donated by Epic Hair Boutique customers, which was matched by the business’s staff members.

Customers could contribute as little as $5 during the holidays and through the month of January for the Easter Seals program, states a news release from Easter Seals.

The Epic Hair Boutique contribution will benefit the Early Intervention program on Kaua‘i, which provides comprehensive services for infants and toddlers from birth to age 3 who have, or are at risk of having developmental delays or disabilities.

Epic Hair Boutique is a full-service Aveda salon located on Kuhio Highway in Kapa‘a next to Kojima Store.

Easter Seals Hawai‘i, Kaua‘i, meets the needs of Kaua‘i residents with developmental disabilities, delays or special needs and their families by providing programs and services which allow participants to flourish and live lives of self-determination, independence and dignity.

Easter Seals Hawai‘i is one of the state’s older nonprofit providers of early intervention services and has been providing services on Kaua‘i since 1972.

On Kaua‘i, the nonprofit serves 280 children and adults with disabilities and special needs.

Statewide, Easter Seals Hawai‘i employs more than 500 people, and operates 24 programs on five islands.

All funds raised by Easter Seals Hawai‘i stay in Hawai‘i, with more than 90 cents of every dollar going directly to programs.
