PO‘IPU — Police arrested a Kalaheo man on two outstanding bench warrants and two second-degree theft charges.
Joshua Licke, 20, was arrested April 13 at the Kukui‘ula Village shopping center in Po‘ipu.
Police responded to a disturbance call, where officers located the suspect who attempted to flee on foot, and a chase through neighboring properties ensued.
According to a county news release, Licke was arrested following a two-hour pursuit which included several officers and a county park ranger.
He was wanted on the two warrants totaling $5,900.
Licke made his initial court appearance Monday, and is currently being held at the Kaua‘i Community Correctional facility.
The warrants were for failing to appear for arraignment on a criminal contempt of court charge, and for a non-appearance and non-compliance to substance abuse evaluation order.
The case involving the two-second degree theft charges remains under investigation.
