Night work and lane closures will take place from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday on Kuhio Highway, a county release states.
Work will continue on the slope leading from Princeville to the Hanalei Bridge as crews repair damage caused by the heavy rains in March.
The work will force workers to close the highway entirely for brief periods during evening hours. Drivers are asked to watch for traffic control personnel who will be directing vehicles.
The makai lane of Kuhio Highway just above the Hanalei Bridge has been closed since March when heavy rains caused substantial erosion of both the hillside and part of the road bed.
Construction crews will be placing concrete as part of the repair work.
For the safety of drivers and to help construction crews expedite repairs, drivers are asked to minimize travel through the area until repairs are completed.
