KILAUEA — Gabriella Bryan, a fourth-grade student at Kilauea Elementary School, earned first place for Kaua‘i island in the Lions Club “Sight is Beautiful” contest.
Bryan was announced during the Kilauea School fourth quarter assembly Wednesday by members of the North Shore Lions Club who presented Bryan as well as the top three winners of each grade during the assembly.
Ikaika Havas topped the kindergarten winners over Zalyah Chadawas-Kaui and Kaili Olson.
Melela‘i Beck, Talia Beebe and Terah Kerwin represented the leaders in the first grade with Anthony Gallego, Pilipea‘a Torio and Tria Ann Kaui getting honors for the second grade.
Raimana Huddy, Angelica Raza and Breanne Costa-Pa were named tops in the third grade with Lili Perry, Tejah Paik and Madena Maycong getting the judges’ nod for the fourth grade.
Julie Ann Jarquio, Angelina Terrazas and Noa Harrison were the leaders in the fifth grade with Wavey Novoa, McKenna (no last name available) and Larry Loos leading the sixth grade submissions.
Lion Koko Kaneali‘i handled the microphone announcements with the presentations being done by Lions Bob Robertson, Sally Hopkins and Bill Troutman, who was also honored by the school as one of the “Going the Extra Mile” honorees for his volunteerism at numerous school functions.
