The public has an opportunity to learn about the Cub Scout and Boy Scouts of America programs while watching Kaua‘i’s Cub Scouts participate in the 2012 Cub Olympics Saturday.
Registration for the Cub Olympics start at 8:30 a.m. with the opening ceremonies starting at 9 a.m. at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School covered gym and play field.
Patrons and guests are asked to park in the lot just below the YMCA pool parking area.
Hosted by Cub Pack 270, Kaua‘i’s Cub Scouts, including the Tiger Cubs, Wolf, Bear and Webelos, they will be attempting to set new Cub Olympic records and earn medals in events such as the Coconut Shot Put, Pool Noodle Javeln, Long Frog Jump, 1,500 Meteor Race, Paper Plate Discus and other events.
Cub Scouts participating in the event are asked to bring shoes, a water bottle and lunch.
The Cub Olympics is the annual Boy Scouts of America, Aloha Council Cub-O-Ree, gathering of the island’s Cub Scouts for a day of learning and fun.
