NAWILIWILI — A 42-year-old visitor from California was treated for injuries after losing control of her moped and crashing into bushes near the entrance to the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort and Beach Club Friday morning.
Traffic to the entrance of the resort was diverted for a short period while emergency responders treated the victim for injuries to her left shoulder and upper arm area. The victim was transported by American Medical Response paramedics to the G.N. Wilcox Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, states a county release.
Apparently, the visitor had just rented the scooter before the collision and had turned off Rice Street into the entrance of the resort when the mishap took place.
