PO‘IPU — The public is invited to the first Kaua‘i All Girls Rodeo Association event Sunday at the CJM Country Stables in Po‘ipu.
Sunday’s rodeo opens the 2013 KAGRA calendar of rodeo events with the Grand Entry at 10 a.m., marking the start of six events where Kaua‘i wahine rodeo competitors work to earn points towards the year-end All Around Cowgirl honors.
There is no admission to view the competition in the 3D Barrel Racing, 3D Pole Bending, Goat Tying, Steer Undecorating, Breakaway Roping and Dally Team Roping competition between the KAGRA cowgirls.
Points are awarded in each event with the highest points being awarded to the first place winner. The cowgirl collecting the highest point total through the six rodeos planned for the year will earn All Around Cowgirl honors, the second highest point total getting the Reserve All Around Cowgirl honor.
