LIHU‘E — YWCA OF Kaua‘i Family Violence Shelter received a series of donations recently to help with programs and operational costs.
Tony Motta, President of the Hanalei Bay Rotary Club presented a check for $5,000 to YWCA Executive Director Renae Hamilton to ensure that all victims who flee domestic violence have a safe place to go to.
The funds will be used to for the Children’s Program at the shelter and for day-to-day operation costs
Macy’s continued its support for the victims of domestic violence with a grant award for the YWCA Family Violence Shelter.
The grant will help fund the Family Violence Shelters day-to-day operations, which includes safe shelter, food, clothing, support counseling and more.
The Zonta Club of Hanalei members have teamed up with the Stanny Foundation to bring hope and opportunity to the victims of domestic violence who are being assisted through the YWCA Family Violence Shelter.
Zonta Club members along with the Stanny Foundation have provided the shelter with a new computer for residents to use for job searching, school needs and more.
They also have purchased a new freezer.
The Stanny Foundation is offering opportunity for domestic violence victims to return to school or renew their job skills by providing scholarship money.
These special funds have already been used by a woman attending KCC.
