Band giving up the funk at free concert

ANAHOLA — People who love good music and a good cause will find both at the Anahola Marketplace this Saturday, when local band Da Funk plays a free concert benefiting Malama Kaua‘i.

Hello everyone. Here is another one of my compositions that I would like to share with you. When I compose a song, it is always about a real place, a real person, a real mountain. Working at Coco Palms, I meet a lot of guests who are reluctant to leave Kaua‘i. Here is what one guest told me. “Larry, I’ll be leaving tomorrow. I’ll cry a lot today.”

Aloha everyone. I’m back with my 16th composition. On my 40th birthday, I watched the sunset from the shores of Kona and thought to myself: another day of my life will be gone when the sun disappears. But another day of my life reborn when the sun re-appears and, here I am, 51 years later at 91 on Sept. 14 to share my song.
