Robert Yasutaka Hiraoka
Robert Yasutaka Hiraoka passed away at his home in Kapahi on May 13, 2025, at the age of 95. He was born on Jan. 7, 1930, in Hanapepe, Kauai. He was a facilities manager in the airport’s control tower for aviation.
He was preceded in death by his mother Tamano Uto and father Senichi Hiraoka.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bernice Hiraoka, sons Raymond (Jennifer) Veeck of Kauai, Guy Hiraoka (Karen Eguchi) of Oahu, daughters Valerie (Brian) Pearson of Kamuela, Roberta (Eric) Tanaka of Oahu, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Interment will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery, beginning at 9 a.m.
Kauai Hospice and Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
