The Kauai Bus announces modified schedule for parade

LIHUE – The Kauai Bus announces the following route adjustments for the 70 Lihue Shuttle on Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m.

Due to the King Kamehameha Day Parade on Rice Street, the following stops will not be serviced:

• Rice Street / Hoolako Street.

• Rice Street / Kalena Street.

• Rice Street / Hardy Street.

• Rice Street / Umi Street.

• Rice Street / Ewalu Street.

The following roads will be closed from 8 to 11 a.m.:

• Rice Street, from Hookalo Street to Eiwa Street;

• Hoolako Street, from Vidniha Stadium to Rice Street;

• Umi Street, from Hardy Street to Rice Street; and

• Eiwa Street, from Hardy Street to Rice Street;

The 7:55 a.m., 8:55 a.m., and 9:55 a.m. Lihue Shuttles will go from across the Garden Island Inn straight to Lihue Gardens, and from Eiwa Street (Lihue Civic Center) to Garden Island Inn. Riders needing to access Rice Street will need to board/disembark from Eiwa Street (Lihue Civic Center).
