LIHUE — A number of road-related projects are on tap in the days ahead with grass cutting, tree trimming and guardrail repair making up the bulk of the work, the Hawaii Department of Transportation said in an update on Friday.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending May 23. All work is weather permitting.
Puhi
Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 1.9 to 3.9, in the vicinity of Anonui Street and Haiku Airstrip, Monday to Friday, from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m., for cutting grass and guardrail clearing.
Kipu
Roving lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 8.7, in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Piwai Reservoir, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for striping.
Single lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction, between mile post 2.9 to 8.7, in the vicinity of Kipu Road and Piwai Reservoir from today to Friday, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for striping.
Kalaheo
Lane shift on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in the eastbound direction, between mile post 12.5 to 13, in the vicinity of Powerline Road, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree trimming.
Eleele
Right lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction, between mile post 14.5 to 15, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for grass cutting and guardrail clearing.
Lihue
Roving lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 0.0 to 1, in the vicinity of Rice Street and Laukini Road, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for striping.
Hanamaulu
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the northbound direction, between mile post 1.5 to 1.6, in the vicinity of Nuku Street and Laukona Street, Monday to Wednesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for cutting grass.
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 2.6 to 6, between Kapule Highway and Kuamoo Road, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., for cutting grass.
Wailua
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in the northbound direction, between mile post 6.2 to 6.3, between Papaloa Road and Lanikai Street from 8 p.m. Thursday through 4 a.m. Friday, for concrete barrier installation.
Kapaa
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 8 to 9.5, in the vicinity of Akia Road to Kealia lookout from today to Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for resurfacing, concrete and electrical work. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Kealia
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 9.9 to 13, between Mailihuna Road and Kukuihale Road, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for guardrail repair.
Kilauea
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction, between mile post 20 to 22, between Koolau Road and Kaluamakua Place, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for cutting grass.
All lanes on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) remain open; however the county road (Kolo Road) that intersects with Kuhio Highway is closed at the intersection. The intersection will be closed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through the first week in July.

Kalihiwai
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile post 24.4 to 28.1, in the vicinity of Kalihiholo Road and Emmalani Drive, from today to Friday, nightly from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for replacement of signs and markers.
Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile post 25 to 26, in the vicinity of Anini Vista Drive, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 1 a.m. to 6:30 a.m., for cutting grass.
Princeville
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 0.3 to 1.2 between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for pipe and gutter installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Hanalei
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in the westbound direction between mile post 2.7 to 3.3, between Cin Tai Wai Road and Anae Road, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for sidewalk installation. Alternating traffic will be routed through the open lane.
Waikoko
Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile post 4.3 to 4.5, in the vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Lumahai Trailhead, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for slope stabilization of Waikoko Hillside. Kokee

Wailua Homesteads
