LIHUE – The next reuse collection event will be held at the Kauai Resource Center (KRC) located at 3460 Ahukini Road in Lihue from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 30.
Residents, businesses and other organizations can bring unwanted or unneeded items for reuse, including clothing, small furniture, children’s toys, books and shoes. Clothing and textiles do not need to be in good condition; torn or stained clothing is OK. Please do not bring eWaste, chemicals, appliances or broken items.
The public is encouraged to check with their local thrift stores to see if they can take donations before bringing items to the KRC.
Due to health and safety concerns, heavy equipment in the area, and to reduce the chance of injury to customers unloading heavy items, Goodwill requests that the public remain in their vehicles while on-site.
Thrift stores and businesses can call 808-241-4838 to schedule pick-up service. Residents requiring home pick-up can contact Habitat for Humanity Restore at 808-335-6105 or RP’s Random Closet at 808-346-0020 (Note: RP’s Random Closet is a for-profit agency).
