Kudos to Stacie Chiba Miguel, Mark Hubbard, Pilare Mukai, and all the other hands who successfully melded the Night Market for Mother’s Day campaign, which brought many Keiki to the Palm Court area of The Shops at Kukuiula to engage in Mother’s Day activities (which usually involve gifts) and the artistry of Peek-a-Boutique face painting.

Cherie Cabading of Kauai Diner (yes, they have a second location in The Shops at Kukuiula) was busy introducing the newly-opened Koloa location by becoming a vendor of street food (mahalo, Stacie, for the fancy Calamanci using locally-grown fruit),
The new location is upstairs of Scotty Browns Restaurant and Bar, which just opened its doors a week ago after rebuilding from the former Tortilla Republic … another place for Francis Takahashi of Mini Mac, a vendor at the Wednesday Kauai Culinary Market, to try out.
The normal vendors of produce and value-added products from the Kauai Culinary Market were substituted with vendors offering a variety of Mother’s Day gifts and fashion, like Cassandra Rull, who was so busy there was no time to talk.
Now, we move to the Kauai Community College commencement exercises on Friday when gates open at 4:30 p.m., and the Kulia I Ka Nu‘u Hawaiian Health Fair Kauai on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kauai Museum with free plant giveaways (while supplies last), free resources for the entire ohana, and even free basic haircuts from 9 a.m. to noon.
Don’t forget the Kauai Chorale performances on Saturday and Sunday at the Kauai Community College Performing Arts Center.
