KALAHEO — The Department of Public Works and its contractor are announcing road closures and single-lane contraflow traffic patterns for portions of Oni Place, Panui Street and Maikai Street in Kalaheo, from Monday to Thursday, between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.
May 12-13: Lane closures will be in place on Oni Place, from the Kaikena Drive intersection to the end of the road, and Panui Street, from the Oni Place intersection to the Pai Street intersection. A single-lane contraflow will be in effect for the stretch between Kaikena Drive and Pai Street.
May 14-15: Lane closures will affect Maikai Street, from the north intersection of Opu Road to the south intersection of Opu Road. A single-lane contraflow will be in effect for the full length of Maikai Street.
These traffic modifications are necessary for road resurfacing work. Electronic message boards will be posted to inform motorists. Drivers are encouraged to plan accordingly, allow extra travel time, and avoid parking in the work zones. Flaggers will be on-site.

‘Ele‘ele closures
The Department of Public Works and its Contractor Insituform Technologies, LLC, announced the following lane closures from weekdays this week, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.
The one-lane closures are necessary for manhole inspections throughout the project area.
The following roads will be affected: Eleele Road, Melemele Road, Poni Road, Akala Road, Uliuli Road, Keokeo Road, Mehana Road and Huehu Road.
Drivers are encouraged to make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to reach destinations.
Motorists are advised to expect brief and occasional delays. Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area. Papalina Road closures

Lane closures will be in place on Papalina Road, beginning at the Waha Road intersection to the end of the road.
