KAKHILI — Bronsten Goodling was voted the Most Valuable Player for the Alakai O Kauai Public Charter School Grade 4 basketball program following the final contest of the 12-week program on April 29.
Poo Kumu/Director DJ Adams said the MVPs for each of the basket ball programs in grades 4 through 8 are selected by their court peers following the 12-week basketball program for boys.
“Alakai O Kauai Charter School wrapped up our fifth season of free basketball on campus,” said Adams. “We were thrilled to expand to Cheer Team, Mixed Volleyball, Girls Basketball and Boys Basketball after-school program with zero cost to participants. We completed the season in the last three years with a Sports Spectacular Showcase in which all the teams play in front of the entire school and community members.”
In addition to Goodling, Dean Becker was voted MVP for Grade 5, Maverick Powers represented Grade 6, Dustin Kaneakua was chosen MVP for Grade 7, and Koa Shay was named MVP for Grade 8.
