LIHUE — The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announces the launch of the electronic road test booking system on May 15. The public will be able to book their driving road test easily online rather than having to call the DMV.
LIHUE — The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announces the launch of the electronic road test booking system on May 15. The public will be able to book their driving road test easily online rather than having to call the DMV.
“We are proud to continue to work towards making our county’s services as easy and accessible as possible to the public,” said Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami. “We know that booking a road test is stressful enough so we’re working on making at least the process easier.”
To book a road test with the DMV, visit www.kauai.gov/dmv and click on “Book Your DMV Appointment.” From there, for appointment type select “Driver’s Licenses.” Then click the appropriate road test option for your desired license; type 3 for motor vehicles and type 2 for motorcycles. Once you have made your selection, fill out the booking information, process your payment, and complete your booking.
To book your CDL/Type 4, box truck, road test with the DMV, follow the same steps as above. From there, for appointment type select “CDLs.” Then click the appropriate road test option for your desired license; type 4 for box trucks or CDL road test. Once you have made your selection, fill out the booking information, process your payment, and complete your booking.
The DMV is open Monday to Friday, except for state and federal holidays. At the Lihue DMV only, walk-in customers are served as time permits. Therefore, appointments are highly encouraged to avoid long wait times. The Kapaa Satellite DMV is by appointment only.
As a reminder, Kupuna Hour is only available at the Lihue DMV location. It is for customers aged 65 and older and is from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., with no appointments necessary.
