Matthew Tomio Furutani
Matthew Tomio Furutani, 71, of Kapaa, passed away at Wilcox Hospital on Jan. 29, 2025. He was born in Lihue, Hawaii, on Sept. 30, 1953, and retired from Kapaa Poi Factory.
Preceded in death by his parents Haruo and Yukiko Furutani.
He is survived by his sister Gloria (Carl) Tavorn, brothers Dennis (Sandy) Furutani, Robert Furutani, Arnold Furutani, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Kapaa Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with services beginning at 3 p.m. There will be a ZOOM meeting for people who are unable to attend. ZOOM ID: 98783600363 Password: Ps8318.
