Thank you for saying that. We were not told about the Downtown Lihue Night Market presenting much-needed help to the Hawaii Foodbank Kauai and the Waimea Canyon Middle School.

But Benny Galizs and Macie Macadangdang of Mailani are generous about saying Mailani is celebrating its first anniversary (Benny said wearing a Mailani shirt when photographing the Ohana Motors crew is out of this world) on March 21, 22, and 23 at Kukui Grove Center in the Santa’s (he’s off and running until later this year) Hale across Jamba Juice. This year’s special is the launch of The Ia Collection, and the first 50 customers receive a free canvas tote bag.
Artist Maryann Donagher said the Kauai High School Art Show will run from April 22 until 25 at the Kauai Society of Artists gallery. It will feature the work of Taylee Yoshimoto (didn’t she win tennis this weekend?), Jorey Elamar, and more from 3 to 5 p.m. (there’s school). Parents and students over 18 must volunteer (they call it “gallery sitting”) until the closing reception on April 26 from noon to 3 p.m.
Kudos to Kapaa High School Athletic Director Greg Gonsalves, Jason Yoshida of the Kauai Interscholastic Federation, Coach Bill Arakaki, Coach Ron Velasco, and all those hands for making it possible for Kauai (yes, it was lovely to see the Waimea High School athletes!) to qualify for the state track and field games.
With all of the “closures for improvements,” it is incredible how Waimea High School has adopted Hanapepe Stadium (and tennis courts) as its temporary home for high school sports home games for baseball and tennis (and, where is the Island School tennis home court?).
