LIHUE — On Monday, the county’s Office of Economic Development announced it “has opened a request for proposals, or RFP, for its Kauai Cultural Program and Events Grants Program covering fiscal year 2025.”
In a press release, OED said the intent of this grant program is to support the creation or maintenance of community events, activities, and experiences for resident education and enjoyment, Native Hawaiian cultural programming, and enhanced products and visitor management programs that align with the goals of the Kauai Destination Management Action Plan or other related community plan goals for visitor industry management.
Proposals are being accepted through the SMApply Grants System by visiting the website https://tgilinks.com/4h7Uq9j.
All proposals must be submitted via the SMApply Grants system on or before 4 p.m., April 3, 2025. Applications are not accepted through mail, email, hand delivery, or fax. Additionally, proposals received after the April 3 deadline will not be considered.

Eligible applicants can apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000.
Applicants will be notified of funding during the week of April 21, 2025. The funding period will be from May 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026.
