LIHUE — The Fraud and Scam Prevention seminar designed to protect Kauai’s kupuna, and assist in recognizing fraud and scams, is scheduled for this morning, Feb. 12.
LIHUE — The Fraud and Scam Prevention seminar designed to protect Kauai’s kupuna, and assist in recognizing fraud and scams, is scheduled for this morning, Feb. 12.
The County of Kauai Agency on Elderly Affairs (AEA) will host the seminar aimed at educating Kauai’s most vulnerable on fraud and scams. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m., at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
Kupuna Alert Partners will also be in attendance and will join in discussions and topics such as Medicare and securities fraud prevention along with prescription drug misuse.
The multi-agency partners will also provide information and tips on scams and how to prevent people from becoming another victim.
Walk-in registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. However, to ensure enough program materials and refreshments, it is recommended to pre-register by calling the AEA office at 808-241-4470 or by emailing elderlyaffairs@kauai.gov.
