The Kauai Quilt Show (where is the Dave Lester’s famous shirts quilt?) and Boutique (Bev Gotelli said they have Valentine’s Day, Christmas and other hand-sewn specialties in addition to the antique monkey that is looking for a price) opened on Friday, popping said Cheryl Brady whose Chuck Brady is “vacationing” in Louisiana (no, he’s not going to the Super Bowl).

The show that is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kauai Society of Artists gallery (the Boutique is located next to Jamba Juice) is perfect for Valentine’s Day, said Melissa McFerrin Warrack (she’s also got big news about the Hawaii Children’s Theatre) of Kukui Grove that is kicking off Valentine’s with the Kauai Made vendors, and the K+M Market vendors (We can make a lot of things for Valentine’s, said Mele Manintin of K+M). Everything is set up between the Chinese lion from Saam Fu Cultural Center, and a possible surprise dragon.
For those planning on attending the Downtown Lihue Night Market on Saturday night, the advice is to go early for parking because Leilani Rivera Low is hosting her 31st hula halau hoike at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall where doors for the crafts (vendors) and grinds open at 3 p.m.
Don’t forget the Souper Bowl Sunday at the Clayworks at Kilohana … that starts at 10:30 a.m. on Super Bowl Sunday and you end up with a handmade ceramic bowl memento while helping the Lihue Lutheran Church Mobile Munchies program … there’s also live music at the Kukui Grove that’ll end about 1 p.m., lots of time before the football game kickoff.
