That means if you haven’t given your lai see for good fortune and prosperity, the Saam Fu Chinese Cultural Arts center from Honolulu will have its lion ohana (complete with explanations) at the Kukui Grove Center from 11 a.m. on Saturday.
According to the Saam Fu website that displayed schedules of appearances on the Big Island and Oahu, the lions will also be making appearances starting Friday and Saturday on Kauai.
At 11 a.m. on Friday, the Saam Fu lions will be at the Princeville Center before moving to the Walmart store in Lihue at 3 p.m.
At 4 p.m., the lions will be blessing the Downtown Lihue Community Center (is that Hale Lihue, or the former Ulu Room?) before heading to Friday Night Art in Hanapepe (the lions are expected around 6 p.m.).
Bright and early on Saturday, Kauai Museum welcomes the lions starting at 9:15 a.m. before the lions reach the Kukui Grove Center.
Also at the Kukui Grove Center, the lions will be joined by appearances of the Showtime Characters, including Mickey, Minnie and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Candy Cane Lane has been spruced up to make great Valentine’s Day photos, and Brenda Turville of Showtime Characters said she heard there’s going to be music on Super Bowl Sunday so she’s getting her characters out on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (yes, Super Bowl kickoff starts at 1:30 p.m. on live television).
